I test fit mine. The fit is good everywhere except the driver side. The lip is spaced out approximately 3+ inches. I'm not sure if 3M double sided tape will hold it. Also the ends of the lip (at the wheelwells) are not fully painted and you can see white fiberglass. I need to get that painted before permanent installation.
Edit - My lip is CF. |
Ouch... 3+ inches??!!

Here is a test fit. I drilled a new mounting hole under the car and significantly reduced the gap. I still have a 0.5-0.75" gap on the driver side that some two sided tape will need to take care of. Other than that, the fit is nice everywhere else.
Right now I'm waiting for some carbon fangs to be delivered before I try to permanently mount this. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7084/7...184056e4_z.jpg Mines test fit by J M Gale, on Flickr |
Nice, i wish the ME lip came w/fangs. I would have gotten it if so instead of the top secret style one.

Well I was hoping to get some tips on installing the lip, but seeing that none came and the impatient a$$ that I am, I decided to take matter into my own hand. First let me say that this lip looks insane, that being said the fitment leaves a little to be desired. It's not the worst but there is one area in particular that I would like advice on. Where it meets at the wheel well there is a huge gap in the curve of the lip. It's mostly on the passenger side, so here’s what I'm planning. I'm thinking of removing the wheel well on the inside or part of it anyway, clamping the bumper to the lip and riveting them together. There is a spot on the lip that is not visible and is not part of the exterior. I'm confident in my plan, I was just wondering what others have done.

Hey Guy's
What’s up. Like I mentioned, my body guy took a dump on my situation so I installed it myself. I did not use two sided tape, I went with a 3M product for just this type of job. I will get the name later. Pre fit the lip and secure it in place with some tape dont worry about the gap right now! Once you happy with the Pre fit, use a couple of self-tapping screws and secure it from underneath once your happy with the fit. My suggestion would be to do as I did, remove as many fasteners that hold the bumper from underneath as possible, that includes any that are holding the bumper to the wheel well. The idea is to get the bumper as flexible as possible. Take some blue tape and mark a few areas were the lip should be once it's installed. Now remove the lip and apply your choice of adhesive, re-install the lip and secure it from the bottom were you previously used the self-tapping screws then use duct tape to hold it in place. Now here’s how you fix the wheel well gap. Push the fender wheel well out of the way and take another self-tapping screw and screw the lip and the bumper together from the inside. If you look at the curved ends of the lip you will see the area I'm talking about. One side came out perfect and the other has a small gap that can be filled with some phenoseal. I'll take some pictures in a bit. |
