Default Steering wheel controls and aftermarket wheel

Odd question. I installed my Personal steering wheel and nrg hub system. And for the hell of it I wanted to see if one just plugged in the oem steering wheel controls harness from the steering wheel, if they would work. They didnt work...any suggestions as to why?

The reason Im looking into this further is that Id like to relocate my cruise controls and such. I did a search, but nothing deals with this specifically.

Thanks for the help.

Here's more info on the setup:

I pulled the controls out of the oem wheel, didnt cut any wires or anything.

The NRG hub has a cutout for the oem grey pin connector...so I plugged the oem controls back into it. And got nothing.

The only other wires that were disconnected were the 2 for the airbag.

There is a green grounding wire but that didnt seem to make a difference. I also checked the fuses by the dead pedal.

After checking the fsm, The issue seems to be that its not grounding with that little green wire. Any suggestions how to get it to ground?

i usually use a pig tail sandwiched between the hub and steering wheel to get ground (for my horn). should work in this case too.

Yea when I did mine I just did away with it all. But are you paddles going to be close enough to your new wheel? I know mine are further away from the hand controls but I have a MT. I should of got the short hub. I wasn't thinking. I'll be ordering that next week.

The wheel is a bit further from the paddles, but thats not a problem.

Ill try the pigtail sandwich and see if that will ground.

Tried the pigtail sandwich, didnt work. I even ran a lead to the negative terminal on the battery and still got nothing.

Any suggestions?
