Just installed TWM short shifter today
So I read about the rave on the quality of TWM short shifters and gearknob and since as i always been wanting to get it, I reckon I put in an order for one. Browsed their website and fell in luv with their weighted matt black knob. Now the heavy knob is suppose to make the throw easier and I thought that's even better! Look and feel good! Took about an hour to install and here's the pic:
I should have gotten their boot sleeve as the oem doesnt fit (pic below), have to think of something over the weekend and diy something to hold it Overall great quality product! This mod gets my 2 thumbs UP!! Shift throw feels much shorter and best part is less effort to push into gear now due to the weighted knob (which feels really heavy in my hand before I install it). Next 2 weeks, more pics to follow as I'm doing: 1. custom bodykit 2. black out taillights, door handle and rims 2. Spacer and lower springs Can't wait, life is gooood |

Nice. A boot sleeve is a must. I'm not sure what TWM offers, but I ordered the shift knob finisher from ZeeToyz when I had my Z and really liked it. For a temporary fix you could stop by a home improvement store and pick up a rubber grommet.

i agree that TWM products are top notch... but do you really need a short shifter on the 370Z? i dont sense this...
anyway good job and see if you can find a collar in the toliet section at home depot. it's like a tapered rubber washer used on the NISMO knobs. that and a washer under the boot should hold the boot up and clean that up real nice. |

well i always find the oem throw is abit notchy. like when I wanted to do some spirited runs (and pretending i'm a race car driver ) the longer throws on the oem seems to upset the momentum a little when i'm "in the zone".. haha not sure how to describe it but pls dont think i'm a twinkle bell

The TWM shift boot is a quality piece.
The only thing I don't like about it is the stitching doesn't line up with the stitching on the console trim ring.

I've really been going back and forth on whether or not I should get one installed. The stock shifter isn't really that bad at all but I do wonder how much better it could be...

I installed my TWM about 2 weeks ago. I'm using a PWJDM knob. So far, I like it. It's got better bearings on the bottom of it then the stock shifter has.
