Switching The Thermostat Controls Around???
Has anyone attempted or completed switching around the thermostat controls? This is by far a deal breaker, but if I can change it it would be nice. Not complaining, just asking.
Stock Left = Fan Center = Temp Right = Mode I would like it to be: Left = Fan Center = Mode Right = Temp I never change the temp much, and when I do, it's usually by feel, not by looking. Especially on a car like this where no actual temperature is given. So it makes sense to me for this to be in the worst spot. But I do use the fan and the mode a lot. Currently the mode is the farthest away, which just makes it harder to get to. It's also has to be seen to make sure you've got the right setting, but the shifter is a little in the way while driving, and totally in the way when parked (like in the morning when you first start the car in park and want to change things). When I say in the way I mean either visually from eye's view or physically from hands reach. So I took the back off the gauge cluster and it's hard to tell if it's all connected on the board, or if it's just wires. It appears to actually get it apart you need to pull off the front ring knobs to let the center section slide out. I tried tugging on the rings and they don't appear to want to come off easily. I was afraid I'd break something. So has anyone tried or done this? Thanks for any input. Cheers ---- Bonzo

My assumption is it is connected on the board because of the structure needed to hold the knobs in place. Good news is the AC unit is basic enough that a used one shouldn't be expensive. I'd find one at a junk yard or ebay and try ripping it apart.
