Default APR Universal Mirrors, Where should I mount

I'm going to buy these mirrors soon. I really enjoyed the way they looked on my 350 and was wanting to put them on my 370. Being there universal I was wondering what you guys would suggest on where to mount them? In the standered postion like on the 370 below or on the door like the GTR. I like the door look plus it would be different look. What do you think?

I think the door location looks good, plus it will free up more viewing space. Takes some of the blindness away.

Since you're going to remove the OEM mirrors, you'll need to find something to cover the holes on the door where the OEM mirror mounts. I would personally attach it there, rather than drilling your door to attach the little APR bracket. Something worth noting on the APR mirrors (I personally have a lot of personal experience with these), they will OFTEN come loose unless you use some kind of thread lock. The joints are also very easily disturbed by even the slightest bump, so expect to be adjusting your mirrors at least once a week if you regularly park in a public area.

Yea, APR includes a piece of CF that can be used to cover the stock location so that's a plus. Being I had some before I know all about them moving all the time. The thread lock is what I ended up using also. It worked perfectly after that. I'm still in the middle of the road on what to do. I reall want to be different.

I'm always wary about installing universal parts on a car since they clearly weren't meant for the make and model. However we have such limited options for the mirrors, looks like APR and craftsquare are the only ones.

I voted standard location ... just seems more aesthetic to me. I do agree with the other comment that if mounted on the door they would provide better vision forward. But you are a race car guy, and seems they would best be suited for seeing what's behind you. Slick looking mirrors no matter where you put them.

That's been a big dilemma lately for me. I'm having to make hard choices. I'm about to get a roll cage and having to make choices about how many points I want. I want a all out track car but at the same time I don't want to ever lose it being streetable. Just knowing I couldn't ever just jump in it and drive would kill me. Really trying to balance both worlds. So a four point cage is what I'm settling for.

If you aren't going to put them in the stock location, I think they would be more functional even farther up front on the fenders.

Standard location for me but I don't race my car so... are those mirrors wide angle? It might make it difficult to see if too far away from you.

Yea there wide angle. But you could just about mount them in closer than stock plus there placed out further catching more angle reducing blind spot.

When you really think about you could easily have the mirror itself located at the same height and location as the OEM. Only the mount will be on the door. Not much difference.
