Bodykit install, so cheap??

I wanted to do the amuse body kit for a long time now. I just called around for a paint and install estimate and they are going for 400-600 (rear bumper and side skirts)
Now I want to get it done right but can't afford the 3k+
So the questions are:
How is the fitment of Carbonsignal and UAM amuse body kits ?
Should I be aware of any hidden charges from the bodyshops?

I'm kinda worry it's gonna turn out like sh!t lol :ughdance:

I'm in the process of having a Carbon Signal Front Bumper, Front Fenders (frp), Carbon Signal Rear Spoiler, and UAM Rear Bumper painted, installed.

Everything was smooth fitment wise so far except for the Carbon signal fenders. The fitment on them sucked and there were tons of small 'pits' that needed to be sanded and filled.

Car should be finished in a week, I'll post up some picks, I'm just selecting in the process of finalizing what color I want to repaint the car.

That's because shops have done so many Amuse installs they're second nature... :ugh2:

That does sound cheap though. Maybe you need to go some places and make sure they understand what you wanting and get estimates. Also let them know before hand that if something is not right there will be extra cost. Such as paint not matching close enough.

These shops are legit too (at least from the website) But i was expecting at least $1500
Since these kits have good fitments, I think I won't have any problem then except for paint matching of course.
They are gonna use the excuse of a 3 years old car though, won't they? lol

I was quoted 500-700 for a front bumper, side blades and rear splats. Gonna have some custom work done on them so it could be more

Thing is I talked to this guy and his was 3k for paint and 400 for install.
So after I called around, I was like what? can't be 400-600. What kinda paint are they going to use on my car? lol

considering its only 4-5k to paint the entire car, 3k for a bumper paint job is just ridiculous

Ontario Canada.

I'm paying between 3500-4000$ for re-paint, colour change of entire car, and install of front/rear bumper, fenders, side skirts, hood, spoiler.

Cool! Another local Z'er.

Is the body shop going to paint the engine bay as well? Can't wait to see the finished product.

tonybui 01-19-2012 06:57 PM

The kit is made of FRP (fiberglass) ? I heard that bodyshop has to mold it to make it stay. Is this correct guys?

tonybui 01-25-2012 10:37 PM

bump, can someone answer my question above. Thanks guys !!

sinceday1 01-26-2012 01:04 AM

No need to mould the kit to make it fit..

Amuse rear + UAM CF fender install and paint cost me $1500 CAD.
Your quoted price seem too cheap. I'd wait and get it done right.

Some dude rear ended me yesterday when i was getting of work and just left so now i have to either pay the insurance $1000 for my deductible or do it my self. Figured if I do it my self I can make the car allot better. I bought the amuse body kit shine replica and i just need a good body shop to install it for me in the LA or inland empire areas any suggestions ?
