that's a nice overlay.

have any completed job pics??

M.Bonanni 05-22-2009 01:38 PM

Nice. My vinyl guy wouldn't do that for me in flat black. He said you would have to use wrap vinyl because of the curves, but when you heat up wrap vinyl it turns glossy. Show me some finished pics so I can prove him wrong lol.

Hi Rick,

I think I saw your running around 190th the other day. How much the guy is charging for installing this? PM me please.

Modshack 05-22-2009 04:37 PM

VIP....Nice! I may do that too...

Car goes into the shop next week for a new nose, and I used your front treatment to mock it up (errr... spray can!) to see how it looked on blue. Gonna do it I think!
Thanks for the ideas..

sensi09 05-23-2009 03:11 PM

I love the front, Modshack.

VIP, any shots of the product after install, both front and back?

Thanks!

joejo02 05-24-2009 01:06 PM

+1 for the front and back overlays. I have a PG and will be getting both the front and back done! I'm still deciding if I should also do the roof.. Does anyone have a PG with a roof overlay? I photoshopped one but i might need an actual picture.

miguez 05-24-2009 01:34 PM

Interesting idea on the hood, I love that on the new BMW M3, although that one is made a little cooler by being carbon fiber...:)

Can we get some pics of those side things from under the car? How far underneath the car do they go? I am thinking those might add some aerodynamic benefit! :)

VIP-STATUS 05-26-2009 12:05 PM

The side are coming off today so i'll take some pix's:tup:

Looks great, I'm still debating if I want to just paint the thing or put an overlay...

Any advantage to doing one over the other?

Paint is permanent. Overlay you can peel off if you want.

One is easily reversible the other is not.

racerxj17 05-26-2009 03:54 PM

what do THOSE wheels run again? (for the used / and new set). the more i look at them, the more i like then. whats the tire size on those?

VIP-STATUS 05-26-2009 04:09 PM

You just remove them if it's a layover.
If you paint the front you will get carzy rock chip!

That's the biggest advantage for sure!

Hmmm, how is that different than the stock paint? I guess if you half-a$$ed it and just spray painted over the stock, but I think most here would do a proper sand/prime/paint/clear coat job.

Namir 05-26-2009 08:46 PM

I think the black valence looks great. It really masks the 'butt hole' that everyone complains about.

Any non HDR shots?
Also, any info on the carbon side skirts? I might have missed the thread about those.

Yeah, point taken...VIP I may be phoning you soon :P

JB1 05-27-2009 01:07 PM

OK, forgive me if it's a stupid question, but can I buy the material and do this myself? It's a rather long drive from Chicago to Torrance to get this done at VIP...

Alexus 05-27-2009 01:10 PM

^
I'm pretty sure they can ship it to you and you can install it yourself or get it installed at a local vinyl shop!

CBRich 05-27-2009 05:49 PM

Definitely gonna need to find a local installer to have this done for me. It looks great.

VIP-STATUS 05-27-2009 10:52 PM

the thing is when you get this install you got to stretch it over the middle light as you can see the one of the pictures.
