looks like i have wire problems..cause everything except the OBD port and intellegent key warning buzzer dont work..

Trilitheum 02-07-2012 03:26 PM

I would say so, probably no easy fix, have to grab a multimeter and start testing cable runs, but that's going to be a big job. The factory service manual does have all of the electrical diagrams.

They miss this stuff because the pdi guy gets paid 9 bucks an hour and has no clue what hes doing.

Just as an FYI, this guy was hanging on my mirror when I received the car:

This is also the first time I've seen this "BCM transit mode."

Awesome Help

Trilitheum - I can not thank you enough! You just saved me a trip to the dealer, and a lot of frustration. A simple push of the button and my Homelink is up and running, and even have a chime now. This has been delaying my install of my remote starter as I didn't want my dealer to accuse me of breaking my homelink.

Thank you!

No problem, exactly why I made this thread. Glad it helped you out.

Awesome! Now my car remembers my AC settings instead of randomly selecting to blow on my feet!

Just wanted to give a heads up, as this caused me a lot of frustration and intermittent issues, and possibly save a trip to the dealer for someone. I did search and couldn't find any reference to this "Extended Storage Switch" However it is mentioned now in the 2011 and 2012 model year manuals on page 8-22.

This little white push switch that fits over the 10 A Electrics fuse comes to the dealer in the off position, they then push it in on delivery. It prevents battery drain during storage as the name would suggest by disabling certain systems.

I started getting symptoms where the Homelink would stop working and the exterior chime also stopped, also my OBD II port stopped supplying power. Everything else functioned fine.

I checked the fuses and none were blown, however after more poking around I noticed that what I now know is the extended storage switch was wiggly, I gave it a good push in and it clicked, and all my problems went away. A week of intermittent problems solved, I was about to head to the dealer.

Great post!!!!! Was getting frustrated not being able set the Homelink. Would not reset and blink as described. I saw this post and did as advised, the car was not properly set for delivery. A push of the button and the homelink came to life. Thanks a million!!!!! :happydance:

It's amazing how much this has been happening straight from the dealers. I thought when I posted this early this year it was a rare occurrence that might help a few others who had the same issues.

It might be a good idea to make this a sticky so people can find it easier?

Thanks for the Tip!!

By the way, which fuse box is this switch found in. There are 3 fuse box in the Z and I can't figure which one it is in.

Great post.....I had my car delivered without this switch in the "customer delivery" position too.

Nice to be able to fix it so simply without a trip to the dealer.
