Well it's now middle of March and the dipped wheels with glossifier still look good. Even after being able to drive the Z all winter cuz it was so warm they still are pretty sharp after a good washing. Admittedly they do seem to gather dust and loose the glimmer faster due to the texturedness of the Dip, and they are a little tougher to clean by hand (the glossifer doesn't smoothe it out). But three months of driving and there are very few dings to the Dip. Ultimately, considering it cost me about $20 to do the wheels up like this I could handle needing to redo it once a year or even 6 months considering the savings vs, powdercoating.

Default PlastiDip Question

So I did my wheels in four coats of black PlastiDip with one coat of Glossifier over it. It has dried for about a week. It is definitely tacky. My question - has anyone had issues with the PlastiDip getting shredded going through a car wash? I watched all the DipYourCar vids and they showed them spraying with a pressure washer on the wheels with no problems. Went through just a standard car wash and when I got home the wheels were a mess. Any thoughts?

You probably needed more gloss for one but never go through pressure washes, kinda a rule of thumb, just because you saw them do it, doesn't mean yours will do the same

i agree. self wash places are just as bad if not worse. a bucket, soap, wash mitt, hose is all you need.

It's possible the car wash you went to just has a higher pressure than the hand units the guys in the vids use?
