condensation on my carpet

Tried doing a search but couldn't find anything. I noticed yesterday and today that my carpet under the floormats are slightly damp. I know my wife hasn't spilled anything in the car and the condensation has no odor. Anyone know what this is? I'm guessing it must be some kind of leak from the climate control? I can't imagine it being anything else... thanks in advance for your help

Have you had it detailed lately...carpet cleaned?

Are you 100% sure its actually wet? I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes when stuff is cold it feels wet. Thought my seat was wet the other day. I see you are in TX though, might not be getting cold there yet.

No it doesn't sound dumb at all. I actually spent 10 min inspecting it and when I push a dry napkin in the area. You can see tiny balls of moisture. Very insignificant for right now but its there.

Thats strange, i cannot think of anything else that would cause that, especially since its under the removable floor mat... I would say wet feet, but then how is it getting under mats?! Either way, if you can not find the problem i would start working to reduce it at least. Having moister in there can't be good for business. Take a hair dryer or something and dry it completely and see if it gets wet again

Has it rained or been wet recently? I mentioned your issue to a friend that use to have the same problem in his car. He couldnt figure it out, but some of the possible causes he came up with could be leaks at the doors that are having water run into the car and under the mats. Also leaking from something near where the firewall is that's leaking under the mats, or coolant system leaking through

maybe an a/c drain tube type thingy in the firewall is clogged and you're getting water backing up/not draining properly and seeping into the cabin.

Is it on both driver's and passenger's side or just on one?
