Paint re-clear coated
Has anyone just spent the money to have a better topcoat put on the car? Or would you have to have a new base and clear put down. I drive to much to deal with poor paint.

I would assume he means the entire car from everything not just the nose.
It can be done but won't save much over re base coating and clearing also clear will magnify any imperfections that the car might already have. |

New member here but you can do it and it will last a lot longer then Nissan clear from the factory. (I run a body shop) If you have chips and what not in the paint those won't be taken out so if its a brand new car and you want just a better top coating on it go ahead. but if you expect to get chips and what not out then you are gonna have to do base + clear and that will be costly because then you have to pay for the repairs of the chips and what not.

or just get some durable polymer sealants. consult detailersdomain (phil) for that, he's a vendor here.
i personally use Griot's paint-sealant on my dd. with the protective slick film left from the SprayOn Car Wash + Prima Hydro as my LSP, dried bird crap pretty much slips off like eggs on a teflon frying pan. as for chips, just get clearbra. |
