Reviving this one.
I did a took a quick glanze at your album and I couldnt find much(probably not looking correctly)
I have a couple of Triples at the house and was looking at this the other day, the pic you've shown of the board helps me understand the why now.
I had another idea, I came across this chinesium OPSI gague that was pretty shallow and undersized. I took it apart and was able to fit all but 1/4 of the gague inside of the OEM bezel, from my mesurements it seems like if the white plastic is shaved the new oil psi gauge would clear the board without touching any of the electronics.
Sadly the gauge is too slow, Im currently looking for a small affordable one that matches.
