I could understand on the roadster, but there is seriously no way you could ever get locked in our "trunk". On the coupe I think it is for as Triple's said; in case you need to get it open and there is no power.

I've corrected the first post and title to reflect that its just for the event of power loss and not necessarily an Emergency.
