Shall we discuss seats, practicality, and weight savings over OEM seats?
Once I settle on a good boost level on my car, the next step is to try to lighten things up. Of course, my sub box isn't helping, but I plan to change out the audio stuff down the road (i.e., smaller box, single small digital amp). Basically minor weight savings here and there. Every little bit helps

Status seats weigh about 14 lbs each. I'm not sure what the OEM 370Z seats weight, but with the electrical components and airbags, plus the heavier frame, I know it's significantly more than that. I wouldn't doubt it if they were 12-15 lbs heavier than the Status seats. As far as practicality, that's up to your use of the car. The Status GT-X is easy to get in and out of, but you lose the reclining feature of the OEM seats. Status is supposedly working on a reclineable seat that should be out soon, though. There's several aftermarket reclineable seats that are in the same league as Status in terms of quality, also. The Status GT is also pretty easy to get in/out of. You just want to avoid seats with really high and/or vertical side bolsters. When it comes to seats, I won't even consider seats that aren't made by a company who has FIA certified seats in their lineup. That at least proves that they know how to build a good seat and have good quality control. -Matt

Thanks, Matt. I'll wait for the reclining seats. The seats I'm looking for is for the comforts of daily driving with a bit of sporty support while carrying the benefits of weight reduction. Asking for too much? Haha.
