New Reflctive Carbon Fiber Coming Soon to CFElement

So I found some new stuff to mess with. They call it a reflective carbon fiber. Its real cf but with a twist. These are just pics from a site. It should be ten times better when layed up and cleared. I have a yard of the silver on order, but there are a few colors to choose from. Perfect for anyone looking to do some real custom projects. Btw, its tough to get and only one place in the states sells it, and always out of stock. Pricey too, at more than 3 times my normal cf cost. Stay tuned.....
Keep in mind, these are pics of raw material, no resin or clear so no depth or gloss in these pics. But still hot!!

Btw, only available in a single/plain weave with these....not the normal 2x2 twill I normally use.

Btw, I have plans for an entire console/cubby/shifter trim/window switch panels/steering wheel to be done in this stuff....Gonna make for an awesome interior kit!!!

Ive played with that stuff...its odd to work with as it doesnt behave like carbon or kevlar. It acts more like texalium. With this stuff you absolutely must use a clear hardener (like West System's 207 Special hardener). Standard hardeners drasticly shift the color on the reflective weave.

I don't use west epoxies man...even their 207, which is their clearest hardener, sucks!! its actually quite sh!tty IMO, all of it...very unclear and alot of air pockets, also a slight yellow tint, maybe not to everyone, but i see it....my resins are much nicer and as clear as glass, don't worry. I've used texalium too as well, its thick like fiberglass and takes time to get down right. Don't worry bro, I've done this stuff more than a few times;) not my first time.

Just out of curiousity, what resin/hardner do you use?

Ooohhh, I like the silver. Any chances I can get a discount price (like same price as normal carbon fiber) if I let you make my radio console cover the first test dummy? ;)

Hmm. Steering wheel?
I'll put a big "Tony" sticker on my car if you hook a brother up. :roflpuke2:

It'll lay down the same as normal cf and all the same work. I've done more than a few so don't really need to test anything. I can hook you up tho if interested dude. Pm me

Hey Tony, I'll P.M. you about it when I get my car.

How soon you think you'll have the radio/thermostat done on this project? That's the only part I want done and it would be great see pics before ordering.

By the way, I just HAD to ask before, you know, or it wouldn't be prudent. Not trying to be a big D.

Looks like it could be cool if done tastefully
