FBNissan and Logic Motorsports sell the original too.

Yea, that is a WHOLE other thread there. And one soooo full of opinions, that it would go nowhere. It just depends on you. A lot of people will not buy a replica, I personally would prefer to have the real deal, but get tempted by the much more affordable replicas....:stirthepot:

Well is there a noticable difference between the two?

kellyefields 11-06-2011 12:26 AM

I have never seen the two side by side but as far as pics go I cannot tell the difference. Like I said before it comes down to the installation and paint that makes the look.

Skeeterbop 11-06-2011 01:03 AM

I would think the difference between real vs replica is more in the prep required to get it to fit and look right. i.e. needing bondo to get rid of low spots from bad molding.

Hopefully they can match my 40th color well.

I'm surprised the Amuse body kit cost more than the Nismo. Any pictures of these side by side?

LakeShow 11-08-2011 11:33 AM

How did you just back into a car?

NickBaragona 11-08-2011 04:18 PM

I realized I was in the wrong lane at a stop light. I didn't have any cars behind me, so I proceeded to back up and get in the correct lane. A car pulled out of a gas station at the same time. Stupid mistake on my part, luckily the guy I hit had a beater so he didn't care. I could probably pop out the dent, I will post a picture soon.

Unlikely... once it is dented you will notice a seam/crease in the plastic. Did it when someone (cough cough sister) ran into my daily driver. It will also have scuffs obviously.

I have a problem with cosmetic mods (painted headlights, body kit, even anything too close to a bumper, like forced induction piping/intercooler) only because as careful as I am, someone else who likely is less careful could potentially smuck me...should that happen, say bye bye to the mod. You would run the risk of insurance not covering the full amount that you paid for that mod, so I would opt to go with a replica body kit if it is significantly cheaper (and looks similar in fitment and quality) than the real Amuse kit. The potential loss won't be as big. My $0.02.

Good point, I'd like to see a 370z with Amuse vs one with the replica body kit to see if there is a visible difference.

Would I possibly be the first 40th owner to install the full Amuse kit?

Just my $0.02 cents, but the Amuse kit has been done to death. It's a really great looking kit, but with all the replica's out there, it has lost it's apeal to me. There are plenty of other options out there, but I suppose it's really up to you. Just so you know, this kit sits really low, even without lowering springs/coilovers. As with any kit, there is always some fine adjustments involved, even if you go with the "real" Amuse kit. There are plenty of real vs fake threads on here that you can read and judge for yourself. Personally, I'd rather spend a bit more for the authentic stuff. For the most part, they are usually superior in quality (that's not to say replicas can't be as good).
