JDM OEM rear camera
We are considering stocking the JDM OEM reverse camera for the new Z34 370Z.
Since this camera is of JDM origin, there is a chance that the hardware and harnesses might not fit as is. so some custom installation might have to be done. There are no English instructions and no visual references (to my knowledge). Whoever acquires one and can ensure fitment or lack of, as well as time frame and overall reliability, please let us know and we can start stocking them. We can also assist someone in acquiring one from Japan for special order. Please PM me if you are interested, serious inquiries only. |

They are designed to only work with the stock nav, so I don't think that's going to be a problem, there's a switch that checks to make sure you're in reverse and then the screen automatically shows the rear-view camera's view and goes back to normal when you shift out of reverse... If all the G35/37s have it I don't see why it won't work with our system, our Navs are identical to the G37 as far as I know.

Well I will chime in and say that if you do stock the JDM camera you will hit the Jackpot lol. Many many people want or are interested in this option. I think if install is fairly simple or a good DIY or instructions that could be handed to someone with good tech knowledge or tuner shop. I think they would sell like hot cakes!! /fingers crossed for easy install!! slightly of topic if some of the other jdm options can be brought over and work fairly easy they will sell like crazy i.e. the remote start for the 7at and so on.

been looking for one
I havent found a good aftermarket camera for my Z. I would definately buy it. Would the dealership be able to install it? And if so where would it be mounted. Ive seen those that are mounted on the license plate. On a GTR forum Ive seen one that was mounted underneath the bumper. Would a picture of the camera already mounted be available anywhere? Dose any one know if any other Nissan vehicles come with a camera. I wonder if one does, would they push to install one of theirs instead.

We just contacted our office in Japan and we are currently waiting for a response. We are expecting their response to involve our cost, availability, and lead times.

The biggest issue is whether Nissan is using the same model of nav in the States that has the capability already residing dormant in the software/hardware to make use of this accessory Stateside. Too bad the video has now been removed that actually showed it in action in Japan. There are also pictures and the screen readouts are in Japanese; obviously, these readouts need to be English here.

Yeah, I'm thinking I can do it for a few duckets less, but it won't be as "natural" an install. I'm not getting NAV though, so I have to source a display too...
