Have heard that the 370Z has self-healing paint. Dunno if that was a snipe-hunt thread or not. I do know the technology exists, but is it on the US-bound '12

370Z/Black/Swirls
Have heard that the 370Z has self-healing paint. Dunno if that was a snipe-hunt thread or not. I do know the technology exists, but is it on the US-bound '12 black 370Z's? Does it actually work? Would love black, won't tolerate sworls or the 4-6 hours a week it takes to own a black car.

Not sure about the 2012 Z's, but my 09' Black Z is a swirl queen. I doubt they did anything to the paint on the new Z's. My Z is definitely NOT self healing.
Actually, I think it cuts itself when I'm not looking ;(

*sigh*
Really digging the camel fur colored interior. Black and white are the only exterior colors it is offered with, and after owning my 'vette, I'm done with white. *frustration* |

The black is not much worse than the other colors if you take care of it, at least from what I've seen.
I know jeffblue and zcarman have/had pretty much swirl free cars. And if you want persimmon, black is the way to go. |

Black is fine if you are OCD and have a garage.

there is no such thing as self healing paint. factory paint is a very thin single stage. aftermarket paint jobs are usually a sealer/color(basecoat)/clearcoat which is far superior.
