GaleForce 11-02-2011 10:16 PM

5cm higher! holy crap, almost 2"!!!! Looks good on Mike's car, would like to see one with the carbon fibre top blade.

happytheman 11-02-2011 10:55 PM

Sub'd for moar info and installed pics!

Apoc370z 11-02-2011 10:59 PM

KaienZ34 11-02-2011 11:00 PM

OEM parts are never cheap.

I would like to know if the height and width increase were done for better downforce or was it to reduce obstruction while looking in the rear view? Maybe both??? Id love to find out if a group buy will be in our future??? :)

Oh will these come pre-painted?

HKYStormFront 11-02-2011 11:35 PM

i would assume non-painted. most body parts, both OEM and aftermarket, usually come bare since the painting process is so inaccurate these days as a general rule

happytheman 11-03-2011 06:26 AM

:iagree: This.

Unless you just rolled off the showroom, you'd be doing yourself a favor to have a local shop paint it. And even then you might not get a proper match.

scottIN 11-03-2011 07:50 AM

I'm not a big fan of grocery carts, but that does look good. I think the turned down ends soften it a bit.

TypeOne 11-03-2011 08:55 AM

I like it. I like how it bolts in place of the OEM sport spoiler.. probably the best feature. I also like the design of the Nismo wing and their added flare makes it that much cooler.

Now only if EVO would step up their game and PM people back. ^_^

I highly doubt it was wind tunnel tested. Most likely the differences were done just to make it different from the original nismo wing. It won't come painted, it's hard to get a perfect match even when they have the to car match it much less without it.

:iagree:

Wind tunnel testing is not going to happen... it's also not practical to paint these things as every car is a slightly different shade. Best to have your paint scanned and have a body shop mix the paint to match your car. Especially if you have Silver or white...

cc370z 11-03-2011 08:27 PM

Just saw it in person at sema.... It looks good!

happytheman 11-03-2011 08:43 PM

Did u happen to take pictures? If not then :gtfo2:

Just kidding. No..but seriously, did you take pictures?

cc370z 11-03-2011 08:55 PM

There was already a pic posted.... So I didn't :( my bad.

This is the only pic I have.. Being that's it wider you can see it from the front/side of the car. I hope it's ok for me to post this pic.

XwChriswX 11-03-2011 09:00 PM

I was all for this one till I saw it has the middle piece same as the nismo. That's my only turn off. :shakes head:

So if you really like this style then seibon is the only way to go.

i am never fond of massive spoilers to begin with, but i have to agree, the middle part makes it really awkward.

so i think i am sticking with mines or carbon signal addons for now

RoshDawg 11-03-2011 09:31 PM

The seibon nismo spoiler does not have the middle piece.

Apoc370z 11-03-2011 10:46 PM

oh is that what you guys are talking about? i thought he meant the support of the spoiler itself.

if thats the case, cant you ask a body shop cut it off and sand it down before they paint it?

Ages 11-04-2011 07:39 PM

Any updates on this wing yet? Its not on their website yet i am really thinking of getting this is there is a CF option for the top plank.

They just debuted it at sema this week.

KillerBee370 11-04-2011 09:16 PM

Well it took till mid page 4 before someone even brushed up against the question about downforce. Which is the reason to have one in first place.

So? What's the deal. I actually track my car and I would like some info on this. Yeah the wing looks good but how functional is it?

maro 11-04-2011 09:21 PM

hopefully sale goes on soon! i ve been waiting for while

I'm pretty sure that EVO-R didn't do any wind tunnel testing with it.

You're probably right. So why would I spend $400 on it? What is this?.. the Honda forum?

:icon14:

Mike 11-04-2011 09:44 PM

I don't know, but then I spent 1200 on my wing, plus filling all the old holes and repainting the hatch. Mine does have wind tunnel data though ;)

KaienZ34 11-04-2011 09:47 PM

It's just a nismo replica that is slightly different and a lot cheaper. ZERO wind tunnel testing.

THAT I can understand.. (almost ;)) That's expensive but at least it has actual wind tunnel testing!!! What do you have... the APR?

Mike 11-04-2011 10:11 PM

Yeah, the APR GTC-300. Spohn has the 200 and Bullet has the 500. On a street driven car, I think Spohn's is the most tasteful and not too over the top like mine and Mike's.

I don't mind over the top when it comes to something that truly provides function!

Ages 11-04-2011 11:10 PM

Really i just want it for the looks. If i ever decide to track my car
I'll worry about down force then. Also.. Mike your track beast looks sick!

Mike 11-04-2011 11:24 PM

thanks! its a bit different from the sig pic now though, even more over the top!
