Do you have any pictures with it matte black? I have the rims done, so it might look good..

Same here. Might go 20% next time.

Yeah here they are. It was 100*+ outside that day, which is probably why we couldn't get the gloss finish at all.

I figured there would be spots where the nozzle split or the spray was too close..
I like the glossy black with dark windows.

No offense to the plasti-dip on the roof, but i'm already going cheap by blasting my rims with the matte.

I think ill have to pay up and do it the right way.

Thank you

No problem. I definitely love the gloss black look with the dark windows. Only reason I tried the plasti dip on the roof because it was cheap ($10-15) and easily removable.

The roof needs to be re done in the shade!

I did the G37 coupe on a hot day just like you did... Same problem you had. I found that it was best to spray around 70-90 degrees in the shade... It allowed the particles to lay flat and not dry too fast... yours definitely dried too fast and the particles as such couldnt lay flat.

PM me if you want some more pointers on the Plastidip.

Mike

Appreciate the advice, but I want a gloss finish for the roof and not the flat finish from the plasti dip. Tried to spray a clear coat over the plasti dip, which is where the real issue came up with the high temps. It left a white residue when it dried.

On second thought, I will probably get vinyl rather than paint. I do plan on selling the Z in a few years so I would just have to pay to get it re-painted back to factory color. With the vinyl I could just take it off myself and use the money I save to get my tint redone

I got my roof wrapped for 150... if it makes a difference to anyone. They can do it 1 of 2 ways, remove the panel above your window and wrap all the way or cut it at the seams. Mine was cut at the seams but looks great.
