Painted Trim Pieces
I have been wanting to do this for awhile and now just got around to starting this. I wanted to paint all the pieces that are silver in my car to flat black giving that stealth look.
Being that the pieces that are around the shifter and the cup holder are the biggest pieces and the easiest to remove I started there for today. I feel it looks more suttle than the silver trim (IMO).

Looks good. Take some zoomed out photos if you can so we can see how the whole cockpit looks with the new stealth trim pieces.

Here you go.
EDIT All these pieces look better in dimmer light and in person. My camera sucks. It makes things look brighter than they are. Especially my car.

Does anyone know if the bezels around the gauges just pop off if pried on? I'll find out soon enough.

Looks good ducky! I'd just be worried about long term wear and tear. The color definitely pops.
Your stitching looks good dyed too. Elmer's paint or Uchida dye pen?

The black parts look great, not a fan of all the silver pieces in my car either.
Other colors would be harder to pull off without looking tacky, unless there's an overall color scheme going on. Durability of the paint is an issue though. Wonder if there's enough interest in actual replacements already molded in the desired color? |
