Has anyone taken apart the shift knob or brake lever on an AT7?

I've been looking to add a little color to the interior. I am interested in replacing the leather strip that runs down the center of the shift knob and hand

Try the search engine again. Some one posted some thing on this awhile ago. For the shift knob you just pull down on the silver part under the handel.

Then you can remove a little silver kinda U shaped clip and it comes off. You might have to check under leather shift boots? I checked it out on mine. It doesn't seem hard at all.

Good luck and let us see what you do with yours.

Yea, removal is easy, I was wondering if anyone has actually take the knob itself apart. I plan to change out portions of the covering on the knob and I was hoping someone might have already done this and can offer some advice or time savers on how to go about disassembly of the knob. At the moment it seems that the knob cannot be disassembled. I hope I'm wrong on that point.
