Water comes out of spoiler - anyone else?

2010 with sport package = spoiler. If I wash the car and it's looking good, I move to the rear and open the hood. Water comes out, dripping this way

Yup.

You need to get an electric leaf blower.

its not from the spoiler. its water stuck between the rear window and hatch. this is normal. if you dont want that to happen, get a few microfiber rags and run it alongside the window before you open.

yep. happens to everyone i'm sure......i normally open the hatch and doors while i dry the car...that way all the water drips off before i finish drying, and i also wipe down door jams, hatch trim, etc....i also close the hatch before i finish because water always come out when i close it....

Yeah that's water under the hatch... when you wash your car, open the hatch and let it sit upright before drying the car. Make sure you dry under the hatch on the sides while it's open.

Thanks for the replies. I tried so hard not to mess up the words "trunk/hatch" and "hood" and look where that got me. Close Thread button... where are youuuuuu

Either get a cheap electric leaf blow from Sears or just drive 65MPH on highway for about 5 minutes. It should get most of the water out.

If you have an air compressor its even easier. That's what I use.

definitelly happens just because the water gets stuck in there. leaf blower will do the trick if you hvae one, if not then its just a pain.

Usually, a cloth or blower "will" dry said water..... it's normal. If you open the hood in the front, you'll notice water will run off from under there as well.

I like after you dry your ride and go for a spin with the windows down then you go to roll them up and there all wet causing dry streaks.

I have the oem spoiler installed myself since i have a non sports touring. I noticed there are some tiny holes on the 3m tape that comes with the spoiler so i just bought some black silicon and use a toothpick to fill up the holes/patch it up. No problems so far.

And as for the water dripping, its probably like what the others said cause the first thing i do is to open the hatch half way for the water to run down while preventing any from dripping into the trunk, then i let it open fully and do the inside of the trunk/hatch before i do the body.

I am thinking of investing in a blower or a small air compressor. the thing that bother me the most is the water that gathers inside the side mirrors. I usually wash the car friday evenibg after work and there will still be water in it when i drive it a day or two later.
