Yes search plasti dip its super easy and looks great just do your research on it before you just go spraying it on.. there's two or three threads about it.. or you just look at my photos and check it out for your self..

Emblems are usually pretty easy to take off, just slide some floss or something similar between the emblem and the body and that should loosen the 3m tape. Same with the larger nissan badges except those might have clips too.
Or you can paint them without removing them but you have to make sure you cover the body so you don't end up painting the body.

1. Search DIY Forum, I know there is a thread on emblem removal.
2. If you want to plasti-dip, there is threads on that too...Search.
3. If you decide you want to paint them, get some floss, not fishing line as it will scratch clear coat, and peel them off. Also recommended to get either a blow dryer or heat gun on low setting to help the adhesive release. Then come back afterwards with goo gone and a fingernail to gently peel off the leftover, then goo gone the shiiit out of the area to remove the trace of adhesive.

Finally, a good clear coat buffing should remove the lines of the letters.

awesome thanks for the help guys! i was skeptical of plasti dip because it seems intimidating to paint directly onto to my brand new car, but i think after some research thats the route im gonna take. Any last words of advice before i do it? best way to peel it off the paint?

Plasti-dip is good stuff. It will gently peel off of the paint after you let it cure the 4 hours... Get yourself some toothpicks or the plastic dental floss pics to help pry up ther edges until you can grab it with your fingers. That's what I did. Mask off as much as you can around it, especially if it's a windy day if you're doing it outside as you don't want any collateral spray hitting the car...

Fishing line won't scratch if you pull outwards and not down... if you need to remove it makes sense to try floss first I guess.

Only issue with Plastidip is that it limits your paint colors.

I'm gonna plasti-dip everything this weekend. It's still kind of intimidating as I've never seen it done live but I'm gonna give it a shot!

True, but if you're just looking for a matte black, it's perfect. Color, go with paint.

Here's the process I did and it worked out pretty damn good.

1. Mask off all areas you don't want to get any plasti-dip on. I taped out a square 6" from the area, then did plastic wrap around that.

2. Get some alcohol and use cotton balls and ear swabs to clean the whole area including the part needing to be painted. I then went by with a cotton cloth and wiped away the excess.

3. Now to actually plasti-dip. I started by setting a 20 minute timer on my phone/watch/whatever you have. Then proceeded to paint as so:
  • Spray an initial, very very light coat just to get it springled on, then start the 20 minute timer.
  • At the 15 minute mark, spray your first Full coat. Let dry.
  • When the timer runs out, spray a second Full coat.
  • If you wish to apply a 3rd or any more coats, I would continue with a 15 minute interval, but 2 was plenty for me.
  • After you have sprayed all the coats, let dry/cure for at least 4 hours. (Longer if your in a cooler/more humid climate)

4. Once all the time has passed, do the small finger press to make sure it doesn't leave behind a print, if so, your plasti-dip has cured. You can start to remove all of your wrapping/masking and eventually you'll be right to the plasti-dip on the paint.

5. Using either a dental floss pick or toothpick, you can begin to gently lift parts or the edge of the plasti-dip. Continue to pull it up until you have enough to grab with fingertips and start removing.

6. Once you have enough to hold onto, the plasti-dip on the paint should separate on its own from the emblems. If it does not, having a razor blade or hobby knife to assist isn't a bad idea... Gently cut out the shape and continue to remove excess.

7. After you've removed all the excess, you can come back with some goo gone or alcohol and clean up the residue.

You're done! Step back, enjoy, take pictures to fap to later.

Be careful using goo gone to remove the residue. It actually ate away at the edges of my plasti dipped emblems. I will have to redo this next weekend.

just remove the glue 1st but if you are removing the emblems anyway you might as well just sand them and paint them instead of plasti dip
