Custom painted engine cover
2 Attachment(s)
So, finally decided not to spend big money for a Nismo engine cover. Instead, had mine painted to match with high temp paint and I did a little work on the VVEL area, sanded down the silver and filled the letters with high temp red to match the exterior rim.
Note that although the VVEL letters look like they arent filled in, its just the light reflecting on the shiny red paint in the letter recessions. :tiphat: |
I really like the red lettering for the VVEL! The cover looks great, you should post some pictures of it on the car.

Nice job!

Thanks to all! I am going to remount it soon, but I want to make sure the paint is fully dried before it goes in that heat sink of an engine bay. :)

Thanks for the comments and I will def be at Z Nats! Did it myself, cost me $35 in materials (sandpaper, paint, brushes, etc)
|
New pics are up of the cover installed.

Looks good! I did the same thing on mine. $5 for a can of high temp paint and it looks just as good as the $200 OEM Nismo cover!
