Default Quick question about shine auto shipping quality

hey guys,
so i ordered the amuse replica kit from shine auto through local shop to get a discount.

when the kit arrived, there is a small crack right below the center of the right headlight.

the owner of the shop said its not a big deal to fix it and paint over, and its normal for body kit to have small damages during shipping.

the body shop told me they cannot guarantee that the crack will not crack again in the future and the spot where its cracked is a weaker point on the bumper. and i should get insurance claim from shipping company.

Is it really normal for body kit to have small cracks during shipping? and is it really going to crack again in future or they are just not skilled enough?

please help im dont want to wait another month for a new bumper

thanks!!

No its not normal for bodykits to crack during shipping. If you buy imitation kits then you can expect to have cracks because its not as strong or built as well and they don't package it like they should.

here are the pics,

ill give the shop a call to try to get some money for repair.
but im worried that the same place will crack again in the future.
and the holes came pre drilled too! i thought the holes were suppose to be drilled by the body shop

the box looked prefect too! and the shop i ordered it from couldnt have done the damage because i opened the box myself and unwrapped it to check for damages
thanks for the quick replies

Honestly looks like it can be repaired by a body shop. The body shop is suppose to sand and fill and etc to make it looks good

they said they dont normally fix a crack in this area because they are afraid that it will crack. He is an old friend so he is willing to help out.

is there a big possibility that it will crack in the future(like 3-4 years)? or they are just not confident in their work?

I would of much rather had that crack than where mine was. I do not see that being a problem for you if it gets done correctly. Mine was cracked (almost falling off) where the bumper comes to a point and attaches to the fender. That area is always under stress. I repaired it myself and had the bumper on and off 10 times or better and it is still as strong as the day I fixed it.

Mine had a small crack inside the middle part which goes towards the radiator. I gotit repaired with fiberglass and sand it down it was just like new again.

Just make sure if you repair with fiberglass then you should get the warranty but using filler might break it again, as you need to strengthen it, looks like 30min to one hour job max

Not acceptable. You didn't pay for a bumper with cracks. Have Shine pick up the bill for the fix.

I wouldn't worry about further cracking.

A good body Shop will fix it. It won't crack again unless it's under major stress. If you were in cali, I would fix it with no questions asked
