well i guess nobody has done this yet hu? i guess i'm going to have to fight that damn "blue" clip or whatever it is....been looking for pictures of it in manuals but they just show it but don't show its accurate design to see whether or not it is a slide-off or just pull hard and pop out.

According to my diagram I received from my JDM lights, there is a nut holding the assembly in place. It is accesable from the trunk after removal of the trim pieces in the trunk.

yea, there are 2 bolts/screws holding the assembly in place. but once you take those off they are still stuck on there....i mean you get some wiggle room but when you lift it up as far as they go there is still something in there holding it down.

i remember on my 350 that it had some clips that made it a tad more complicated to remove them. does the diagram show any clips???

i was messing around with them right now and now i un-clipped the upper portion of my rear bumper...

Pull the tailights straight back. I remember that there are two interlocking poles that are in line with the tailight. That with the nut and tabs should do it. Beyond that, I'm going to have to get out the camera and take pictures of the new tailights. My memory is good .... just short lived.

ok how 'bout.....has anybody taken off their rear bumper??

update on the tails:
took the right side which was much easier....popped off both clips with one pull but lights are still stuck on there....can't get them off, don't know wtf is still holding them on...feels like something on the lower portion inside which i can't get to unless the bumper is off. the left side is still stuck on that one clip

Remove the trim inside the back. No need to remove the rear bumper.

You really need to get the service manual, it will save you many hours of frustration
