370Z fog light
1 Attachment(s)
On my 09 i do have a plug next to the fog light with V-AC of (6). Any word on how to get this to work. do i need to purchase the light housing because i have no way to plg a light into the fog light currently on the car.
Any word on this? Attachment 33795 i have attached a pic of what it looks like the cable/plug for the light |
The stock fog light in the Z in the US is a dummy light. You need to purchase a new one. But since you already have all the wires run I'd just pick one up from Z1.

NICE but?

Hey no problem man
JDM Fairlady Z Reverse Fog Light There you go. There are a bunch of DIY on the forum about how to remove the dummy light. |
Thanks got it.

I just got another question i have no switch next to the seats heaters switch. do i need a switch for the fog light or maybe this light will work with the brakes light or reverse light ???
|
anybody???
|
Tap the wire to the brake light or parking light. I tapped mine to the parking light. No switch needed.

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...ng-wiring.html http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...ck-wiring.html As an alternative, you can simply wire the light directly into the factory harness found in the trunk. The EVO-R light has two hot leads - one for flash, one for solid on. I plan on wiring the light so it flashes in reverse, and comes on solid when I hit the brakes. Take a look at this thread: http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...t-install.html Dave took it a bit farther than I will be by installing an on/off switch, but his write-up is exceptional. Good Luck! |
Why Nissan just won't release a control
Stalk for this is far beyond me. How hard could it be? I think someone Said the Canadian stalk was right but Cost alot. |

One DIY used some type of clip to splice the wires together. That seems like a simpler method than cutting and soldering. Thanks in advance. |
Just go to your local hardware shop (Home Depot, Lowes, Ace) They should have them. Just ask the clerk for "18 gauge wire taps" and they will show you. They're basically plastic clips with a metal blade in them. You put the current wire on one side, and your splice wire on the other, press the blade down onto them, and close the cap. Done! No shrink wrap needed, and no soldiering needed.

The best wire taps I've found were at Radioshack. They have taps for telephone wire that work well with 22-24 AWG electrical wire.

Thanks for the post i got all info i need thanks thanks...
thanks gurneyeagle |
Thanks spear and Chris!
I know that sounded like a stupid question, but it was the one thing that either wasn't detailed, or I had no experience with. I appreciate your patience with a newby question. |
Rear Fog Light part numbers
You can purchase all the parts from a CANADIAN Nissan dealer. Cost is ~$470 installing it yourself.
I contacted Oakville Nissan in ON, CA. Canada/Mexico rear fog light: 26580-1EL0A Canada/Mexico control stalk: 25560-1EA0C |
Can you pm me where you ordered your parts from. I'd like to get the control stalk.
|
I don't see any prewired to the fog light on my 09. It seems...early 09 model didn't come with prewired harness?
|
Prewired fog started in 2010 for the us models I believe .

Left body harness part numbers
There is confusion on which 2009 Zs, the JDM or CA control stalks will work. I know Courtesy Nissan has the disclaimer will not work on 2009 Nismo.
Here is the breakdown according to USDM Nissan FAST. 2009 Zs that are Base, Base + Sport or Nismo have the left body harness, 24014-1EA0A, which isn't compatible w/the FOG control stalks. The rear fog light wire is not in the wiring harness! 2009 Zs that are Touring or Touring + Sport have the left body harness, 24014-1EA0E, which is compatible w/the FOG control stalks. 2010 to 2011 Zs have the left body harness, 24014-1EC0A, which is compatible w/the FOG control stalks. Please correct me if anyone has a ’09 Z that is B, B+S or Nismo that has the rear fog light wire. Please check your wiring harness. You can find the part number on the wire harness just behind the left side of your trunk rear trim. |
L33T, I have the 2010 touring so The control stalk should work if i understand your
breakdown correctly. i want to buy the ca stalk. Where do i order one? Can i order online or do i have to call them? Also, How hard is the install? Is this a professional job or just something i can do with a little time? Thanks |
