is there any way to make a half *** wind test? put some of those sticky yellow wind dirction things behind teh vents and run a high powered fan at the front of the car to see if air actually leaves that area.

uhmm that wouldnt work. The hood has two vents dead center in the hood. There is a huge difference in air flow from having no vents to having vents. Putting a high powered fan and some tape on the vents is not the same as turning on the car and driving it and seeing air coming from the two vents.
