Last time I researched this with a few vendors about 6 months ago there still weren't any racing harness bars in production, anyone have any updates or information on this?

Amuse makes one. If you wanna save some $$, you can always go for custom. Should cost less than $500

is the standard rear bar not enough? ive seen a few track cars using them rather than a harness bar for their harnesses.

sorry guys, didn't see the responses, I had thought about custom just wondered if there was something easier.. Also @ 6SPD do you have more information on this? I thought it wasn't safe to do that?

i'd guess it'd be auto-x safe, but not track safe.

The problem with the stock bar is it is hollow on the inside and not enough support on each end if you were to crash.

If you are going through the work of doing that you may as well just replace it with better material from the ground up. That way you are not trusting the original piece which might crack and still fail.

I was thinking of a bar inserted into the stock aluminum one and then triangulated with brackets of some kind to the upper belt mounts. That's kind of what aftermarket harness bars do. Think that might work?

itd be much easier to have a bar fabricated from scratch.
