Anyone have any knowledge/experience of shipping aerosol cans over? I couldn't even get a quote off the FedEx site.

I might have to end up doing a bulk buy with some mates here, apparently one seller can do $25/can. Not sure if its worth doing at that price though.

At this rate I think shipping an evo-r front lip will cost a truck load too

Anyone know of any product that will disolve the plastidip so I can get it off? Want to try to get this foxed by the weekend, I have a WI Z meeting this weekend. Sucks enough I'm not getting my exhaust before then.

You can do what I did and just clay bar it. That definitely got it off.

Getting it off the car is easy, getting it off the lettering in all the nooks and cranny's isn't.

This works great. Used it myself for the overspray, accidentally touched the emblem with it and melted it. I had to redo my front burger.

For those that plastidipped their wheels, I see that you guys did the lug nuts also. No worries of the stuff coming when taking off your wheels?

Do like 7 or 8 thick coats around that area and just be gentle when you mess with them. I wrapped a cloth around my socket when I put the lug nuts back in and they were fine. And if it ever gets messed up you can just do them again

I heard WD-40 does the trick too.

Update, so I used alchohol and some cotton balls and that seems to take it off pretty good. I swabbed almost the entire back of my car, it gets everywhere.

So for my second attempt I newspapered half my car. You may laugh, but trust me, it's necessary, I did it in an enclosed space with no wind and it still got all over the back of my car, little microscopic specs everywhere, I'm glad I caught it on the first coat on my first attempt.

I just finished my last coat for this second attempt. I sprayed so much on it didn't even look like I was spraying anything on it was so black. If this isn't thick enough, it's just not going to work for me. SO wish me luck, I'm going to let it dry overnight so it hardens. I'll take it off tomorrow.

So after kinda reading about this, decided to play around with this stuff. Called a good friend that is a union painter, but on buildings, to see if he would come over and help with the masking and what not. He agreed so I am ordered a 6 pack of blue and decided to do my wheels. By the way my car is Monterey Blue, hence blue wheels.
Pics of car before Plasti-Dip:

Start of taping out the wheel:

Lugs nuts done for one wheel:

Trim around the center cap with lug nuts:

Finished taping and started spraying:

Finished product on back rear:

Between taping/masking, spraying everything, then scoring and removal of the tape took around 5hrs for one corner. After doing one we decided to proceed with doing the other three tomorrow. Should finish around 7pm-ish if we start around 9am(will go faster). Will have pics of the car outside completely done tomorrow hopefully. Wanted to do something different, hadnt seen the wheels done this way, but also didnt go through all 40 something pages in thread so I could be wrong. Will also be doing the strut bar and plenum cover where it is silver.

So I took the dip off this morning. I have determined I don't like this product. I'm sure it's great for some but not for me. Anyone standing at a normal distance can tell it's basically rubber on your car. The edges don't peel as clean as they look in the pics. My 3 in 370Z WILL NOT peel right, it always peels up on to the lettering. I'm going to try to use a paint brush with the plasti dip to touch it up. All said I think it would have been easier to just take the emblems off and spray paint them. I'm going to keep the plasti dip on for now, assuming the paint brush touch up works, but I'll likely end up buying new emblems that are pre measured and paint them black. I suppose as a temp solution it's ok though.

Also, if you wax your car, it gets in your wax. Which sucks. Guess imma be the only one with a bad experience with it.
