Default LED Map light problem

hey guys,

i got a question for those who have LED map light.
i didnt get mine from third gear LED but judging from the pictures. the LED are identical. possibly from the same manufacture.

my question is, the LEDs are not totally off when they are on the door setting. They light up when doors are open, but when doors closed, the led are not totally off until i switch the setting to off.

anyone have this problem ? or know how to fix it?

thanks!

I just installed LED map lights from yourledshop.com and didn't have this issue. Even though the LEDs look the same it might be a good idea to buy them from a vendor that others have used in this forum.

nismo- first i would check your car side with a voltmeter to see if there is power going to your LED's after the doors are closed and delay.

I got the LED kit from Third Gear Performance and this also happens to me on the map lights..

The LEDs are really bright and work perfectly but if you leave them on the "Door" setting, when you close them, the LEDs are practically off but still emit a really low amount of light..

I just opted to keep them in OFF and just turn them on if I need to.. No biggie..

Apparently the issue of the LEDs themselves or the capacitors because prior to these I had a regular 194 wedge LED bulb and it didn't act this way..

mine does samething too. I got mine from JDM Toys and it's so perfect except that. Even tho you close the door or whatever, it slightly emit a really low amount of light as what pty370z said. I think it's just how LED works?? It was really annoying at first but then I'm getting used at it so I don't really mind anymore. As long as it works perfectly, then PERFECTO!
