Default GT-R shift knob on 7AT +pics

so as i mentioned today i was thinking of fixing a GT-R shift knob on our 7AT, well this afternoon i passed by the body shop to check on my car, and turns out that my friends GT-R was there as well, any ways we though we would test fit the shift knob on my Z and it actually fits and works and shifts perfectly, but if we want it to sit low like the GT-R's there will be some modifications required to make it look like that, well i took some pics they might not be that good but it might give u guys some idea, i will do this i just need to find a place that would do the modification for me to make it sit low.

Let us know what the shop has to do in order to have it sit real low, make a DIY if you don't mind whenever you have it done.

this is some sweet stuff here.

the only thing that worries me is the labeling on the knob...it will be backwards for our cars....

as far as height is concerned you should be able to just cut the silver piece.

Maybe instead of cutting to lower just put and nice leather or suede boot.

No one will mind because it comes from a 90K car, and looks way better the the stock one or any of the others out there now.

I'm not familiar with the 7at setup. Isnt this "silver piece" threaded?
