Type of wax for VentureShield?
After having my VentureShield installed, the installer recommended Turtle Ice Polish or Plexus plastic cleaner. However, I'm wondering if Meguire's NXT 2.0 wax would work with the film. I've got about half of the car covered with VentureShield so I would rather use the same wax, both for convenience and overall look.
I know that the main concern is the yellow base in a carnuba-based wax. Since the NXT is synthetic, I'm hoping that it will be OK. Thoughts? |

Thanks, SoCal! I did find both of these documents, but I didn't find them very helpful. The manufacturers of VentureShield, not surprisingly, only recommend Plexus, regardless of whatever other brand might be effective.
The other link says that the car can be waxed just like you already do and doesn't even make mention of not using a carnuba-based wax. My installer also recommended Turtle Wax Ice, but I'm not really a fan of it for my car in general. I am trying to understand the chemical differences between Ice and, say Meguire's NXT synthetic wax. |

Thanks, John! Great information. I was thinking the same thing, but let me know if you encounter any problems. I just detailed the car today (wash, clay bar, cleaner wax, then NXT on the non-clearbra sections). Looks great!

I use Plexus.

Zaino...nuff said.

Just heard back from my installer. He said that NXT was fine, but to make sure I wiped it off the edges right after waxing.
