Default 40th 370z front bumper

Returning home from Dallas I had a large piece of road debris smash my front bumper which chewed it up, popped my wiper flood reservoir and fender liner. It was actually shot at me by the truck in front.

I had the work estimated at about $1000 which included a new front bumper vs. a sleeve etc. Sleeve WTF??

Questions:
Do you know of a web site that sells OEM front bumpers?
Is it worth buying an after market front bumper vs. the OEM? Any recommendations would be great!
Does the OEM bumper come with holes drilled out already for the Nissan emblem? I want to delete it!

Thanks,

Dave

Great time to consider an aftermarket front fascia, if you were looking before otherwise have them order an OEM bumper from one of the dealerships.

1. Lots of web sites, do a google search. You can also order the Nissan and Nismo from your dealer.
2. Depends on if you want to upgrade or not. Some like the OEM/Nismo look, others like the aftermarket/ricer look. Just stay away from fiberglass/cheap/ebay bumpers. Stillen is a popular alternative.
3. No it does not, but your bodyshop can "shave" it.

If I purchased a Nismo front Bumper do I need anything else to make the bumper work?

yes, nismo bumper requires quite a bit of work to fit.

try Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com for your nissan bits.

Really? I thought that cosmetically only the front and rear bumpers were different.

no i read that you have to do quite a bit of parts changing especially the front to fit the nismo bumper.

and the side pieces are different too on the stock nismo vs base. (not talking about the s-tune).

If you are buying an ACTUAL OEM bumper, then yes, it will be just like the one that got smashed. If you're buying a replica, then there will be a lot of fitting.

Thanks for all the input. I also noticed that shaving the Nissan emblems off is a big deal. I’m going to pass on the mod even though it is really cool.

Check the classifieds. At least a couple of owners put up their 40th Anniv. bumpers for sale several weeks ago.

Here is what you need for a front Nismo bumper conversion.

i would stick to OEM it would be cheaper than doing a full conversion, that an it wouldn't look the same without the rest of the body to go with it

Actually does not look too bad at all with just the front bumper.
