front wheel fender clips
 

Do you guys have any idea how to order more clips that hold the fender inside the front wheel wells? While pulling the front fascia, one of the clips doesn't hold as tightly. Now the sections of the fender don't align quite as well as they previously did. My concern is that road grime will make it between the different sections of the wheel well fenders (though my guess is this happens anyway).

I think those little plastic clips on our cars are one of the best engineering triumphs I've seen. They're so much better than the pastic rivet/clip/whatever's I've seen on other brands of cars. Easy in, easy out, don't get beat up in the process.

Yep, the pop in grommets are awesome. The fender clips I found to be a bit painful, but maybe I disengaged the fender panel from it incorrectly.

Found a replacement box through an online distributor...$25 for 15 clips, but they screw you out of $40 after shipping, tax, and even a handling charge.

Any tricks for popping the panel out of the clip without damaging the clip? I got the front fascia off by popping the inner fender panel out of one clip and then just gently bending it to get at the screw that holds the front fascia. Is that how you guys do it?

I'm not sure I'm following correctly anymore, so many meanings for some of the words above. For the little "pop in grommets", I use a small flat-bladed screwdriver to pop up the center first and then they pull out easy.

And yes, for removing the front bumper, I also remove one "pop in grommet" from the wheel well (close to the front outer edge), then gently pull wheel well liner out until I can bend it to reach the screw at the top corner of the bumper.

I think you answered the question for me. The pop grommets need to be 'released' first by popping up the center. I didn't know that...necessitating the purchase of a new box.

Most dealerships have these always in stock because they fit more than one car.

You're pretty much going to need those if you do any work on your car regularly. Even when you pop them properly via the center first, they wear out over time and eventually one of the 4 legs on them will break. I keep a bag of 10 on hand and re-order when it gets low :)

Your nissan dealership has them for 89¢ each. It's a better deal of you only need a couple of them. Ordering them online seems to be about $15 for 25 plus whatever the shipping is, may we another $5. In the end it's about the same and you have to wait days to get them in the mail.

Nissan Dealership has the best prices for these.

I sent my gf to pick up some other clips... asked her to get some of these while she was there... the parts guy gave her about half a dozen for free...

I have ordered clips from them in the past (Toyota fender and trim clips), and their prices seem pretty good. They come in pretty good quantities per box, and the shipping isn't bad. But like others have said, the dealer does sell them for a pretty good price.
