Help taking apart some knobs.

I am trying to take the silver part away from these knobs without breaking them. All I want is the silver part. Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

No one can help me? I've tried a few things but it does not work, it's not in the manual.

Are you looking in the owner's manual or the service manual?

2009 370z Service Manual Complete ready to Download!

Though, I suspect either way this will be a difficult search. Also, if you post your reasoning behind removing the silver part it could help.

The service manual, they explain how to take the radio apart and even navigation and stuff but not the actual knobs. I am sure it is possible.

Typically those knobs pull straight out, but no guarantee. There might be tabs underneath to pry. Worse case is to take everything apart and pry or desolder the knobs.

So I called Nissan parts and service today and they told me those knobs are not made to come off. If one is broken the panel has to be changed and it runs for $375.00.

So I guess I will have to paint them in a car which basically leaves spray paint out of the question, I will have to use a touch up brush which I hope will give me a good result.
