Are there any paddle shifter upgrades?
After some thought and foolin around, I decided I don't really like the stock paddleshifters anymore they seem a bit too tight for my liking, and also I'd like them to stick out more. Ive got short fingers, so i actually have to reach for them lol.
Anyone know if there's any replacements yet in the aftermarket, something larger and with a lighter feel? I've done a google search but didn't find anything specific. |

Arghhh!
I just spent the last 15 minutes in futility! I definitely remember a post that someone did a while back where the OP wanted to shorten the throw on the AT. I don't know if that would help you, but I recall he had use one soft rubber foot thingie (the kind usually used to keep a small appliance slightly off the counter) towards the base of each paddle shifter. This made the throw a little shorter and softer FWIW. Perhaps another members powers of search will prevail? I did find this thread to be somewhat interesting though: AT Shifter Mod: Reverse the Up/Down Shift Directions

Thanks happy, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for I want a short crisp throw, with slightly larger paddles. Maybe an extra 1/2-3/4 inches.
A perfect example would be the chase scene in the movie "faster" - shifters that require a light flick, not a push. I find myself sometimes missing a shift because the tips of my fingers graze and slip off :S |

Sounds like you shoulda' bought an MT...
Whew, now that's out of the way, I don't think just changing the paddles is going to help. The longer the paddle, the longer the arc you'll have to pull it through. I think you would need something to move the pivot points outward. |

A smaller click switch or even a spacer/stopper will reduce the throw. I'm sure there's something out there. The gallardo I've driven has it... I know Ferrari make them too. But getting it from those 2 guys is going to be super expensive.. And then comes the compatibility issue.
P.s. No thanks, I don't want to work a stick. That's a womans job |

I can think of one...
TID STYLING - AUDI VW CARBON FIBER BODYKIT - EXTERIOR PARTS AND INTERIOR PARTS - AUDI-VW TID contacted us a few months ago, but I didn't think anybody would really be interested, so I didn't bother sharing. The paddles work for Z, G37 and GT-R. |
