thanks. the manual says i need a pawl to remove the interior door handle? where can i get one? would a nissan dealership sell it?
|
made a mistake in my lasy reply. i need a plastic remover tool to remove the pawls. where would i find a plastic removal tool? is there another name for it?
|
I would assume Nissan sells their special remover tools. I usually get by with cut-up and/or sharpened peices of old plastic credit cards (you could even use a screwdriver for most of them if you're very careful, but you run the risk of gouging the edge of the plastic).

You can find interior panel tools at most auto parts stores. There are also quite a few cheap sets on Amazon...
Amazon.com: panel removal tool: Automotive Hope that helps! |
Picked up mine at Auto Zone for $5.

Thanks for the info. Has anyone removed the interior door handle or replaced one? Is it hard to do?

Hmm, I just attempted a pretty thorough search on this community as well as the web with no success. It would seem that NewYorkJon34 has removed his to get them wrapped:

You will need to remove the door panel first, then take off the door handle while it is off of the car.
Try this: Video #2 Audio Install in a 2009 370Z on Vimeo It's about 2 minutes into the video. Courtesy of SlikNik You can get the plastic interior remover tools even from walmart, if they have car audio install tools. I got my set from harbor freight for a few bucks and it has 6 pieces. hope this helps |

Anyone here knows how to disconnect the electrical cable from the side airbag system inside the door panel. I tried pulling it, twisting it, nothing. It won't move. I am sure there is a way to disconnect that cable.
