Mine's 370z has the cf ducts for cool air to come in for the intakes. Other than that, I don't recall anything. Maybe someone can chime in?

They're made by Mines. However, I dont think they have been released yet. They'll probably be a pretty penny though when they do come out.
Maybe Varis will make something comparable for a cheaper price. Concerning hoods, I havn't seen anything yet. Has anyone else? |

Considering the data I've got on the Stillen intakes, I think it's safe to say that if you're going with the Stillen Gen 3, you don't need any kind of body mod to feed them cold air, they suck cold air just fine on their own: Intake air temp data (Stillen Gen 3, need stock)
One guy tested his stock intake and saw slightly higher relative temps with the stock intakes, but not by very much (we're talking like 10 degrees). I doubt cutting holes in the bumper is worth it performance-wise, even on the stock intake. |

I like intake ducts because I think that every little bit helps, but in reality, it seems that whatever true benefit garnered is minimal. I'd like to see some tests in warmer climates like where I live (It's 90 today... in April ) For me at least, living where I live, my opinion is that any sort of extra venting for the intake or the engine bay sure couldn't hurt. edited: Didn't realize you're from Houston. Let me know if you do some testing when we break the 100 degree mark this summer Last edited by Celinicus; 04-22-2009 at 04:35 PM. |
