question for Clear bra users
Im seriously considering it for the Monterey Blue 370 Im getting next week but I saw it on a pearl one in the show room and you could really see the lines where it ended. Is this common or was it just dirt?
Is there any special care needed after you have it installed? Last edited by Evil Sports; 05-21-2011 at 09:59 PM. |

On the lights, fenders, you may be able to roll them, but, it's very difficult to see unless you close at it from extreme closeup view.

If you're up close like 5 feet, you can see the lines. You have to be really looking for the lines to see them.

Daily Driver. I also recommend one. The full hood is the best. [I] have partial fenders where you can see the lines but it looks as if a part of the car's design. Looks really fine. I have full hood, bumper, partial fenders, rocker panels(under the doors) and headlights.Cleaning the clear bra, mines Venture Ultrashield, is simply waxing it . I use Meguires. Also Plexius is recommended by the installer. To get out any scuffs, the wax will do but better yet I use Meguires cleaner/wax and then use Meguires Ultimate quick detailer to top it off. I use the Ultimate nearly every time I wash and in between for it brings out a deep rich shine. Do not use any abrasive such as Scratch X on a clear bra. Good Luck

I have half hood, half fenders, mirrors, and full bumper.
Most people don't notice until I tell them, also depends on the angle. The piece of mind it gives me is well worth it, plus I got a deal on mine, so even better lol. I was it as normal when washing the car. You can wax etc if needed.

I have full hood and full front fenders with wrapped edges. You cannot see it at all. When I tell people there's a clear bra on it they don't believe me until I point out the almost indistinguishable darts at the head lights or fangs or around the hamburger. I highly recommend spending the extra coin on the full hood/fenders. And most importantly find a shop with a clean facility that does good work and guarantees/warranties their work.
No special care really. Treat it like regular clear coat for washing/waxing. Some manufacturers may not recommend clay baring the clear bra but it can be done with out harm if you keep the surface plenty lubricated as you should regardless. |

It really depends what material is being used and how skilled your installer is. I have mine pretty much all over the car and I have to look for the lines to find them. This is on a PW btw.

also noticed that some bras are thicker than others for added protection. like the Xpel i installed along the rockers 2wks ago is about 35% or so thicker than the clearbra's used on the front of cars. the thickness adds more visible line.
i dont care though since i already saw a rock imprint on the xpel from my drive over the weekend which could've taken a chunk of paint off... but it didn't. |
