Need advise with new shifter knob and boot

So I installed a new torch blue shifter ball in my Monterrrey 370 last night and I loved it intially. Then I started looking at it and it just doesnt look right, there is like a 1 in gap for the boot and knob. Do you think a short throw would fix this? I was thinking of getting one anyways because I miss how short my S2000 shift pattern was.

Thanks

Get a taller boot. Much easier and cheaper. :)

Yeah I love driving the Z and the only thing I miss is the handling and the short throw from the S so I ordered an AMS short throw a few minutes ago. Hopefully this fixes both my issues in one.

I got the AMS one becuase it said that it would raise and lower and I think that would fit perfect with my situation.

You need a finisher between the knob and the boot. A taller boot really wouldn't do anything because it would probably drop down also.
I know some guys were getting a rubber washer at Lowe's/Home Depot etc. to fill the gap. You also might get a snug rubber wash and put it under the boot on the stalk to hold the boot up.

yah, but on on my G i had the same issue when i did the TWM knob where i intentionally used a taller setting. same result with shaft showing under the knob.

i got a momo boot (taller) and made my ring support inside the boot. it looks factory finish. none of that pull-string look at the top of the boot under the knob.

I've got a Voodoo knob I had in my s2000 that I'm thinking about putting on the Z (I believe the threads are the same from what I have read). It's countersunk so I'm hoping it will not have the gap between the boot and the knob.

I have a blox ball knob with a short shifter, and I flipped the retainer ring upside down and I think it sits lower on the Rogue short shifter.

Short shifter helped as I lost a bit of height

IMO - I dont like a ball knob with a boot that sits against it. I've always felt a ball knob looks better with a low boot.
something about this doesn't look good to me

but either a low boot or some sort of finisher will help

I wish I would have kept my voodoo knob, I really liked it
