Well I wanted my car to be satin black was sitting around with a couple buddies and decided we were going to paint it, in the driveway, lol... I know a lot of people are going to hate on it, if so keep your comments to yourself they don't do anyone any good. Everyone I know that sees it loves it and we all think it turned out great as well.

so the only thing is why did you wrap it? it sounds a lot easier and keeps your paint factory fresh....

and it doesn't really matter to me because I am not getting rid of it. Once things pick up for me again I am going to end up turning this one into a track car so the loss in value doesn't matter.

Cant see enough detail from your photos to comment on the overall quality, but wow what a project to take on yourself at home. I think it looks baller, hats off for a crazy project!

I can definately see doing this to an old Z (like a Z31,32) etc. Pretty good and a cheap mod. But on a 370Z? Ouch.

I agree with both of these statements. Looks good... in distant pictures. Definitely have some balls repainting your $30k+ car in your driveway.

I dig the satin color. Just hope you did some decent prep work and cleared the hell out of it. Otherwise that paint is coming off.
Personally, I would have wrapped it. There are places where I live that will wrap the Z for about 2k or paint for 5-6k. Kudos to you for trying something different, however since the Z is not a Honda I would have taken a few steps to make sure it's sprayed in a sanitary environment and prepped the hell out of it. I'd like to see some up-close pics. |
