Hot air?
I have noticed my vented air, coming in from the face vents with the fresh air light on, heats up as my car gets hot, which is normal. At this point I push the button to switch over to recirculateing air, which should stop the ouside air from forcing it's way into the cabin as I drive....mind you my fan is off!! But....I feel warm air comimg in from the foot area! Very strange. In the recirculating air position, and the fan off, I should be getting zero air flow into the cabin, but this is not the case. anyone else notice this?

Im getting the same thing.

That's strange. I know nothing about a/c's. But you should get that checked by the dealership promptly. Nissan usually installs extremely high quality ac and climate units into there cars. Its probably the universal best feature in every single nissan/infiniti vehicle in production. I'm sure nissan will fix whatever that in a heartbeat. My guess would be there is a disconnected hose somehwere... but that's just a whim thought. I dunno?

They keep the air flowing so u don't die and keep the interior vented to prevent mold. ?

In my 09 I feel that sometimes the A/C takes it sweet time to kick on once I switch it to start blowing cold air. Even that most of the time the control knob is set to Auto.
Strange but I have not worry too much over it. |
I believe most (all?) car makers allow some outside air to come in even when on recirculate. I don't think there is anything wrong with your A/C system.
With my last 2 Miatas many people would to go to a hardware store and buy 1/2" diameter foam ribbon and slide that ribbon into the rubber seal between the top of the hood (nearest the cabin) and the car body. That stopped hot air from the engine from coming out and getting sucked into the intake vent for the A/C system. It made a huge difference when driving with the vent on and the A/C off. I don't know if our Z's have similar intakes or not but it might be worth looking into. |
