this is such a cheap and amazing mod. everyone should do it, and DIY!! don't go off paying hundreds for some guy to do it for you. the material for an entire interior trim is about 75$. watch some youtube videos, get a hot blow drier, and have some fun doing it! will post pics of my new interior in a few weeks once i get back to my z!
but guys, i say don't cover the leather trim. thats what makes the interior classy. instead, cover that hard plastic stuff on the center counsel area.

I ended up doing each plate at least twice since this was my first time and was getting used to using the stuff. The Adhesion Promotor made a huge difference for me. In the driver's side pictures you can see some minor air bubbles. I re-did it using the A.P. and it looks perfect now. Just to give an idea of price, I bought a piece 27" x 25" and it was about $39 including shipping. Last edited by TreeSemdyZee; 05-18-2011 at 11:38 PM. |

Looks great!! I did the same thing with the interior to my 350 but I used the 3M Scotchprint 1080 Black Carbon Fiber Vinyl since it has that gloss look I was looking for. I got my vinyl here: Metro Restyling - Carbon Fiber Vinyl - Camo - Woodgrain Vinyl Wrap

Some items to help you wrap easier: Isopropyl Alcohol- To clean pieces 3M Primer 94- Applied to edges and curves so vinyl stays in place. Application Squeege- Helps with getting vinyl down in tight spaces and gets out any air bubbles. Exacto Knife-Needed to cut away vinyl in tight places Hair Dryer- Needed to stretch vinyl over curves and edges. |
