ok guys here are the pics on my car. as you can see this kit consists of 2 hood dampners, 2 brackets and the associated bolts. No cutting or drilling is necessary. just unbolt 2 nuts from the hoods hinges and remove one of the plastic pop rivit from the front of the plastic covers. I currently have mine off due to them being fiberglassed but you get the idea. the hole is already there and all you have to do is put a nut on the bottom of the wheel well which may require jacking up the car to give you the room to put your hand in there but no cutting and no problem with clearances. I am asking 70$ shipped. the hood dampners cost 23 each and the brackets and bolts a few bucks more and approx 10 for the shipping tube and postage so as you can see I am just trying to get my money back and a few bucks for my trouble. I currently have 2 that I made for some local guys but they never paid me and I can make one extra from extra material I have on hand.. First come first serve.

I currently have them off trying to fiberglass them. I am trying to do the poor mans JDM Carbon fiber covers. lol but these do fit with the covers on.

For those that thought the first ones were two bulky here are some better pic and I trimmed the fat so you can see the difference.

Bringing this thread back. I've noticed there are some aftermarket hood dampers out there, Z1, TheZStore, Kelleyfields, others? Has anyone tried any of these, and which one is the best/doesn't bulge the hood. I'm looking to getting some, but I'll live with the stock hood rod if these options bend the hood.

I've got the Z1 struts. No noticable bulging. They fit great and installed in 20 minutes. I bought a set from the Z Store previously, and they were nowhere close to fitting right. Ended up using those for another car.

I had to jack up the front end and turn the wheel to get the bottom nut on, but you may not need to if your car isn't lowered or you have small hands. Other than that, it shouldn't take you longer than 25 minutes or so even stopping for a beer between sides.
