CraftsSquare TCA-F Installed.
i love this thing. I ordered directly through CraftSquare in Japan...had it shipped to my pops place, and he shipped it to me via post. wife has yen from like a decade ago when yen wasn't so strong so it didn't cost me much... like in my head $450. :p
actual price was 55550JPY shipped to my door... or about $685 if USD. Im thinking most vendors will sell these $800-850 range. the order took about 4wks lead-time. it was originally scheduled to ship after GoldenWeek, but the guy pull-in for me and shipped 2wks in advance. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...aftssquare.jpg comparing with the stock dumbo ears it's almost like 1/2 the size...and obviously light weight. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...vs-csquare.jpg installation took me no more than 15min per side taking my dandy time. there's really nothing to it. just take the door panel off, unscrew the stock mirror off, and swap with the TCA-F. do the window re-set and walla. comes with illustrated instructions... it's in japanese but the illustration is plenty. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...are-inside.jpg setting it up, all i did was drive around for a few mins, stopped the car, manually pivot the mirror to my liking. it's very easy to setup because the mirror is a convex reflection (not sure technical term) so it's very wide view. i can have a portion of the rear quarter reflecting in the mirror yet still have no blind spots. no more walgreens stick-on convex mirrors needed on your dumbo ears for those that used them. :ugh2: :rofl2: also, no more stupid blind spot when making left-hand turns! :icon17: this is perfect because we have a lot of silly donation collecting people :icon14: in busy intersections and now i wont have to worry about hitting them. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...-27-06-954.jpg i took them up to expressway speeds, no whistling noises, no vibration. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...e-finished.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...-finished2.jpg highly recommended. |
 Nice, much better than Dumbo's mirrors that obstruct driver-side views.

I like these alot, I hate my blind spot mirrors >=( Will you help me order some for 685 when im ready? =D
Also is there a reason with these you had to remove the door panel? When I took mine off to do my wrap I just pulled back on the panel a bit and the backing plate came right out. |
I had the same kind on my 350 but I couldn't make out what cars were behind me, especially when moving. They ended up more or less being reference points in traffic. Maybe there more sterdy now. I still would buy more. I love the look.

As for removing the door panel it is a compete replacement of the mirror from the mirror base. The mirror housing is CF core, mirror base is aluminum. Its beautifully handmade. |
i love the mirrors bro.... makes me regret buying the carbon covers for the dumbo mirrors..... :(
|
i should order these, i have some yen lying around from my last trip to japan when 1 USD = 128 yen...

Looks good Ken . Mike should put these on his Orange edition, these in orange would suit his "race car looks"'amlot better.
|
Thanks JB. :D yah definitely will go well on track cars. :p
|
Never a huge fan of those mirrors...I thought about them on my 350 but went with the ganadors instead...not sure if they're available for the 370 tho.
Btw, I have wrapped a set of the bases for someone back in the day in plain weave to match the mirrors...if you're interested..... |
Oh nice, first set I that I have seen on a 370z and they look good.

Can you take a close up side shot of the mirror on the car. Is that the mounting holes I see from the outside?
