Anyone with Suede dash yet?
Any pics would be cool. Thinking about pulling the trigger but not sure how to get the stitching done.
I think it would cost a lot...but good luck!
To do it properly, you need to completely remove the dash which is a BIG job. I think it would look great but it is a big project.
I think I might go through with it next month. I defiantly post pics :)
Anything is better then the crappy dash we have right now
Anyone in the southeast that wants a suede dash let me know I will give you a discount.

How much do you think the modification would cost for a suede dash?
Hell yeah. I would like to see this done. I've been thinking about it for a while now, ever since I checked out a Porsche GT3 in a showroom next to the Nissan dealership.
I think a well done alcantera dash with good stitching would be a badass upgrade, but I'm sure expensive and time consuming. |
DO IIIIIT. i wanna do it, im just not there yet. dont stop at the dash tho ;).

You guys don't like the dash setup? I thought it was pretty good considering. But I liked the Z32 - 300ZX / S13 - 240SX dash setup. Clean, but everything is in clear view.
370z has a decent dash setup for sure, especially for how inexpensive these cars are. the last thing i would worry about making nicer on these cars is the dash
I like the way the dash looks as well. The materials seem pretty nice. Although I have no desire for one, a suede dash would probably look pretty cool.
I did it in my 350...looked great til after the first summer...the sun faded it ALOT...looked like sh!t after that...I had the dash and the rest of the plastic panels done in it, and alot of cf too.
am i the only person that doesnt like Suede for anything? it makes everything look dirty, especially in pics
i dont dislike suede... but its definitely not worth having a rickety crappy loose sounding interior with poor fitting everything everywhere just to have it... not for me anyway. i see tons of guys that love to ruin their interiors with it. i think about 1 in 50 guys who take out their dash actually take the effort to put it back in correctly. every time i get into a car with a painted or wrapped dash the car feels like a total junkbox from terrible reinstallation and poor fitment on all the panels. i think a common problem is that space the wraps take up make it so that everything else going around it no longer fits properly. i would never hack up my car like that personally, but its points at a ricer show :)

In for pics.
I wouldn't mind having my dask flocked... although it isn't a race car it would still be nice. |
Will have mine completed tomorrow, and will post pics. I have the same worries as phunk, hopefully there are no rattles and installation is done correctly...
Not my car and I believe the suede has been removed from the car also. Sun fades it and with the Texas heat it was not stable.

One solution that might help a little would be a good sun shade, using it always would help protect it.

Is side tint allowed in GA? I drive by both state and local police station everyday I take it to work. In jersey no less. No problem... It isn't a problem until it is.. You gotta pay to play! m2c .:happydance: |

Would you say that an alcantara dash, headliner and the plastic-y bits of the of the door is hard to maintain?
I know it's subjective but given that I am a careful owner but not one who would spend 10 hours detailing his car, would you say that alcantara is a "lazy"-friendly material? Or would it be better in another form of leather? |
In for pics.
Ditto, I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. The dash material is the cheapest looking stuff in the car IMO.

I wrapped my interior door sill with suede and installed carbon fiber gauge hats and switch panels and that makes a BIG difference. |

^^^ i dunno man i think the dash itself is the least of the problems. am i crazy or does that rubber material feel a lot like whats in the audis etc? it just doesnt have any fancy metal or wood trim running through the middle to break it up... but im pretty sure the material itself is a similar feel as more expensive cars aside from those with leather or suede dash?
not to insult my 350z fellows, but at least we arent stuck with that! i couldnt stand the interior of my 350z but loved the car so of course dealt with it. |
