Well I am totally stoked on the tint, what an visual impact difference.

This is 3M 20% Color Stable in high sunshine. Depending on the viewing angle it is pretty much non transparent.

Rear glass just turned out gorgeous!

Also decided to do the B pillars in 3M 1080 Black Carbon wrap in anticipation of doing a wrap on the roof and see if this is the way to go.

Total install cost was $240 including the carbon wraps thru Lynx Customs Ltd*|* here in Centennial Colorado.

I can highly recommend these guys for the professional and super friendly service.

so no recommendations for pre-cut tint stores?

Unless you are very skilled, and have tinted many cars, I would not recommend this. I have tinted, and re-tinted my Grand AM many times, and still would not trust myself to do my $40K Z lol. However, if you want a place to get pre-cut kits, check out tintstuff.tv. The guy who runs it is Matt Blackmer, he is a good guy, and will give you a quality product. They have many types of film they sell, from the cheap dyed junk to quality 3M products. Whenever I buy film from him, i usually get the ASWF (American Standard Window Films). It seems to be nice, and easy to shrink.

riding fence here guys. I went to talk to tint today, they said if im on the fence with 15 and 5, just go 5 cause its not transparent at all anymore so whats the diff. Ive had my last 4 cars all 5%. Also, they recommended air blue on the front windshield, I think its 85%, baseically clear. Thoughts?

You getting anything on the front windshield? I got 70% on the front of mine and man it helps so much with glare from headlights. If I don't tell someone there's tint on the front, they have no idea.

They recommended air blue on the front windshield. I think its 85% tint or something. Its a Llumar product. I will have 5% down to the ap1 line though so I guess I will see what they suggest and go on from there. I went back and forth with 5 or 15 but in all honesty once your that low, its hard to even see through so theres no point to just stay at 15, and black limo on red is so sexy. My first car I bought in the day was red and I did limo....wow it looked great:)

Update: Tint installed but its kinda sort dark outside so I will take pics tomorrow. It is flipping DARK haha:)

Niche79 01-25-2014 04:31 PM

Ok guys, here ya go. 5% all the way around. Front windshield has the llumar air blue 85% tint. The 5% limo strip will go on next week after the tint has dried out.

I looked up louisianas tint laws and from my understanding they use the term sedan to describe any type of car since a van has different legal tint limits. A coupes tint level must be in compliance with the law written for a sedan. I hope that makes sense lol.
