to me, undercoating is not for sound isolation but it is for rust protection from salty roads and rocks chipping away at the metal....that alone is worth it !!

The Dynamat route is both expensive and labor intensive. Let alone taking the your Z apart to do it. Do you work for Dynamat?

Most of the sound insulation actually seems to come from just putting the mats in the back. The next thing I was thinking would probably be easier and better is just more of the 3/4" or so thick insulation/matting that seems to be under the passenger compartment. It may not PREVENT noise, but it may do a good job of absorbing some of it... |
